CoEd Winter Indoor Track
Evening activities (after 6:15pm) have been cancelled, but we'll have a quick practice after school today and try to be done by 5pm. If you can get rolling on warm-ups at 3:30pm that would help. The weather for Monday into Tuesday is iffy...good chance of snow/ice that could close school for Tuesday...meaning today could be last practice before next Wednesday.
Look under team files to find the entries to this year's indoor Conference Championships. Congratulation to those that made the roster. We will be having a team dinner on Thursday after practice. For those not on the roster, you may still continue to come to practice to stay in shape for spring track.
Check the team files page for workouts for the distance squad. Sprinters/Mid-Distance athletes should at least be going out for a distance run every other day (2 to 3 miles). If you can get to a track here are some suggested workouts:
1. 8x200m (jog 200m recovery)
2. 100, 200, 300, 400, 300, 200, 100 (jog what you ran for recovery)
3. 2x300, 2x150, 2x55 (jog back to start for recovery)
Plyometric exercises are also posted on the team files pages. You can do these every other day as well. When we return, there will only be 2 1/2 weeks until the District Meet...don't waste all the training you have done to this point!
The entries for Friday and Saturday's CNU Winter Frolic Track Meet are posted in the team files section. The bus will leave Langley High School at 9:45am on Friday. We'll return Saturday evening. The cost should be $100 per athlete to cover the bus and hotel. The itinerary, permission forms, and details will be passed out on Monday at practice.
The Langley Indoor Track Team roster has been posted under the "Roster" section of this website. If you made the team, practice begins Monday November 16th at 3:40pm at the Langley Track. Please wear sweat tops and bottoms no matter the temperature. Contact Coach Diller with any questions.
Unfortunately, there was not enough space on the indoor team for everyone who tried out. Indoor is a very short season with only three meets that non-Varsity athletes can participate in. For those of you who did not make the team, please come back to try out for outdoor track the week of February 22nd. As mentioned below, for outdoor track all Freshman athletes who try out will make the team. If you would like some suggested workouts to do between now and then to get in better shape, e-mail any of the coaches.

Note: We do have cuts for all potential athletes (including Freshmen) for the indoor season as indoor warm-up space is limited and there are only 3 meets that non-varsity athletes can participate in. For spring outdoor track, all Freshmen will make the team and have a chance to participate.

Pre-Season Track Workouts
Mondays & Wednesdays (occasional Fridays offered)
3:40pm to 5:30pm
Meet at the track. All are welcome.
Interested in indoor or outdoor track? Just want to get in shape? Come to pre-season “Green Days” workouts. In addition to running and getting into shape, on these days we are allowed to do event specific practice (hurdles, jumps, & throws):
September: 21, 23, 28, & 30
October: 5, 7, 14, 16 (Friday), 19, 21, 26, & 28
You must have a physical on file, have completed your annual concussion training on-line, and bring an Emergency Care Card to your first workout.
