Girls Varsity Tennis
The match for today has been postponed. The first round matches will try to finish up today or tomorrow.
I do not have a date yet for our rescheduled match. It could be as early as Saturday or as late as next week. I will do my best to get this info to you ASAP. We will be playing T.C. Williams.
Please check your e-mail or the webpage for updated information. Also - please share this with your parents and teammates via social media / text / conversation
I have included the message from the tournament director below:
Even though teams have advanced on your half of the bracket for the second round, at this point in time, I want to try and catch up the other half of the bracket tomorrow by only playing the continuation matches from Tuesday (McLean/Robinson & Yorktown Chantilly).
All of this may be a moot point, because the weather tomorrow looks bad for tennis.
Once again, with the weather bad this week and looking bad next week, please remind your coaches to be prepared for possible Friday and Saturday play this week.
We will not be holding practice today due to the snow.
The match tomorrow at TJ will be held at Wakefield Park
This is a reminder that Saturday's match against Madison will start at 3:00. Girls should be at Langley no later than 2:15.
PLEASE RESPOND TO CONFIRM THAT YOU RECEIVED THIS E-MAIL!!!!
Today's match has also been cancelled. Here is our updated schedule:
Tomorrow (Thursday, May 1) - @ South Lakes
Friday, May 2 - @ Washington & Lee (1:45 dismissal)
SATURDAY, May 3 - Madison (2:30 warm-ups, 3:00 start time)
TWO IMPORTANT THINGS:
1.) We do not have a bus for tomorrow. We will need parents to drive / carpool. I have attached the required form for all drivers. PLease have any parent who can drive respond ASAP. Any player who has a driver's license may drive themselves if they have this form filled out AND a note from your parents. However, no players are allowed to ride with other players (Avani and Ananya are exempted from this rule because they are sisters).
2.) Our match is scheduled for Saturday due to the fact that Monday will not work for Madison and they must leave time for any future cancellations. We will still honor the seniors on Saturday before the match starts. We can discuss the details more tomorrow at the match.
Here is the updated post-season schedule.
. Here are the regional tournament dates. All matches are played at the higher seeded team's court. All matches are 2/3 sets. As soon as one team has won five matches the team match is over. No exhibition matches will be played at these matches, but we do expect all members of the team to be at all tournament matches.
