CoEd Spring Track & Field
You can find the complete performance lists for both boys and girls outdoor season now posted in the "Team Files" section. Also, there are summer workouts posted for sprinters and hurdlers.
Monday: Up Down Ladder, 200-400-800-1000-800-400-200 (1000 @ 5k pace, then speed up for the shorter distances)
Tuesday: 4-5 mile recovery
Wednesday: 2 sets, 200-400-600-200 (mile pace)
Thursday: 4-5 mile recovery
Friday: 6 hills @ 90 seconds
Saturday: 60-80 minute, long slow run...
Sunday: Off or Cross Train
Reminder that there is practice on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the normal time for those who are around this week. There will also be practice on Monday March 28th at the normal time.
Sprinters and Jumpers: Below are some suggested workouts for those of you not here for practice this week. There are also some plyometric jumping drills posted on the "files" page to do.
Monday: Ladder 100, 200, 300, 400, 300, 200, 100 Jog what you run for recovery.
Tuesday: 2 mile run & Plyometrics
Thursday: 3 mile run & Plyometrics
Saturday: 2 mile run & Plyometrics
You will find this season's automatic qualifying marks for Districts, Regionals, and the State meet in our team files. Reminder, if you achieve the District qualifying mark you will earn your varsity letter if you fulfill team expectations (attend meets, sportsmanship, etc.).
Spring Track team forms have been posted under "Team Files". All athletes need to turn in the checklist, team rules, volunteer form, and team fund form. Returning athletes from Winter indoor track do not need to turn in the spirit pack form, extra curricular form, or off campus running form. ALL FORMS ARE NOW DUE!!!
There will be a spring track interest meeting on Wednesday February 17th at 3:15pm in the cafeteria. Come to meet the coaches, learn more about the sport, understand the try-out process, and more. Tryouts begin February 22nd.
